Did you ever struggle with having JOY in the journey? This message will challenge your beliefs about what joy is and how you can get it. Joy doesn’t come from external things but only by being in God’s presence. And yes, it’s possible to go through trials and tribulations, while experiencing joy in the journey!! Amy Minnich explains … Message delivered 6/4/17.
Amy Minnich helps us to see the difference between living Plan A (God’s Way) and Plan B (Living our own way). She compares living a life of legalism with life in the Spirit. Her message encourages us to not just be Christians, but true Christ-followers. Plan A is living life in constant pursuit of Jesus and receiving everything He has for us, which allows us to live in freedom and experience the abundant life.
In her message the week before, Amy Minnich asked what we do after asking Jesus into our hearts. Do we treat him as a (possibly unwelcome) guest, or truly make him at home in every room. This week, she asks us how we view our place in Christ’s heart. Are we just camping out, where are on our own and unprotected? Or are we in the king’s castle, with all needs provided, complete protection, and abundant room to grow? Message delivered 9/20/15.
Amy Minnich challenges the Christians at N3C with the question: What have you done with Jesus once you’ve asked him into your heart? Is he sitting out in the hallway as a guest? Or have you let him make himself at home, with full access to every room and everything that goes on? Her key scripture is Ephesians 3: 14-20, with the emphasis on verse 17 — “Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. (NLT)” Message deliverd 9/13/15.
Her message concluded with special music by Abbie and Dave Messenger: the Stephany Gretzinger song “Out of Hiding”.
Additionally, Amy prepared a five-part devotional study to help absorb and apply what she spoke about. Here’s the study as a PDF:
How do we really love God with our ALL? Associate pastor Amy Minnich shares how the deck is stacked against us, but there is hope. Although there are hindrances to having an undivided heart, a change of perspective is needed…even some God glasses. Theme verse: Psalm 86:11-“Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.”Message delivered 9/8/13.
C.S. Lewis wrote in Mere Christianity “if you do not listen to theology, that will not mean that you have no ideas about God. It will mean that you have a lot of wrong ones — bad, muddled, out-of-date ideas.”
Assistant pastor Amy Minnich shares a number of examples of bad theology … wrong, misleading notions about who God is … and shows from Scripture what the truth is about those things. Message delivered 7/21/2013.
No matter where we are in our walks with the Lord, we can be confident that he wants us to grow up and take our faith to the next level. We can do this by understanding that God is the God of All…comfort, hope, power & faith. Assistant Pastor Amy Minnich explains. Message delivered 7/15/12.
