When Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey’s colt on that Palm Sunday, people were excited and all, but they didn’t have a clue what was really happening. That happens to us all the time: God is moving in some situation and it’s only later, if ever, that we realize it.
Pastor John talks about some of the aspects of that day, and also church member Dr. Johanna Phelan shares her testimony about how, applying the message from the previous week, she worked through a horrible day but as she took the position of one of God’s lambs, He led her through it in peace and victory. Message delivered 3/20/16.
A critical early step in following Jesus’ command to make disciples is sharing our faith. Pastor John talks about the dynamics of doing that as sheep under the care of the Good Shepherd. Message delivered 3/13/16.
A YouTube play list of the worship songs for the morning’s service are here.
Zach Zirbel and John Farrell share their testimonies about life before and after putting their trust in Jesus. Pastor Zach also briefly talks about the so-called Roman Road to salvation:
1:6 — I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
3:23 — all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
5:8 — But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
6:23 — For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
10:9-10, 13 — That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved … for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
