What We Believe

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator @ 11:59 pm

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, and gives to us a revelation of God’s will for us. The Bible reveals the Savior, Jesus Christ, and gives to us prophetic understanding of things to come, both in this age, and in eternity. The Bible reveals God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

God’s Word, the Bible, reveals Jesus Christ as the Son of God, who came and died in the place of sinners. Now, because of what He has done, whoever will call upon Him, will find forgiveness of sin, and life forevermore. Jesus will, one day, return for those who have trusted in Him, those who are alive, and those who have already died.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is alive, well, and active in the lives of believers. God, who never changes, is free to work in quiet or subtle ways, or through signs, wonders and miracles. As He is sovereign, He chooses how He will work. The Holy Spirit not only revels Jesus to us, but also works in our hearts to make us more like Christ.

We believe that Jesus will return, not as a humble carpenter, but as a glorious all-powerful King. We believe that on that day, there will be a resurrection from the dead. For the lost, it will be a resurrection of eternal punishment, but for believers, a resurrection of eternal life.

We believe that the Bible reveals a God full of love, mercy and compassion for His lost creation, and has made every provision to reconcile each to Himself.

John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

Do You Believe This?

To know Christ is not difficult, but it takes a decision on our part. In the Bible, we read the following:

John 1:12-13 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Romans 10:9-10,13 “…if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

We believe that God’s gift of eternal life is available to all who will put their trust in Jesus. If you have never done so, pause right now, and invite Him into your heart, and you will experience the love and forgiveness of God, and you will find new life in Christ.

Who We Are

New Covenant Community Church (N3C) is located in the South Jersey community of Audubon. It is a fairly urban area, more of an extension of Philadelphia than a community unto itself. The area is made up of numerous small communities, one blending into another. Usually, you can only tell that you have gone from one township into another by the change of color of the street name signs at the corners. N3C draws people from many of these surrounding communities. Some travel quite a distance, other walk to church. Philly Cheese Steaks and the locally famous “Panzarotti” are the treats that keep us well-fed and robust! N3C is a church with a history and a heritage.

The church, now almost 30 years old, was first pastored by John Megaw.  John was the pastor for 18 years, and with his wife Eileen, did a wonderful job in laying a foundation upon which those of us who follow can build. Under John’s leadership, in 1989, the church affiliated with Elim Fellowship. John was followed by Pastor Tony Martorana, who with his wife Susan, added to the rich guys.jpg heritage of this family of believers for nearly seven years. Tom Brazell and his wife Judy were called to pastor here in August 2004 from Waycross, Ga.  Their last Sunday was Aug. 24, completing almost exactly four years of service to the congregation.  Tom has now assumed responsibility as director of international ministries for Elim Fellowship in Lima, N.Y.

In the transition time until the Lord brings us a long-term lead pastor, John Megaw has returned to help the church keep moving forward.

Psalm 133 speaks of unity and anointing. The anointing flows from the head down. If the leadership is not in unity, the church will reflect that and be lacking anointing and direction. That, liftedhand.jpgbless God, is not our problem! We must make effort to guard the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace, but we all recognize that God has established that here among us. We have the same difficulties and challenges as any other church: Being wise is not always easy when you’re full of vision and exuberance. But, we are confident that God will provide for us all that we need, when we need it, to do what He wants us to do, when He wants it done!
